On August 25, 2025, Liberty Troll LLC filed an Amended Complaint in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California against Gail Buma, who submitted multiple DMCA counter-notices on behalf of the YouTube channel Dr. Dave Debunker of Frauditors!.
The suit alleges violations of 17 U.S.C. § 512(f) for knowingly false counter-notices and seeks a judicial declaration of copyright infringement. According to the filing, Buma falsely claimed ownership and operation of the Dr. Dave channel while submitting eight identical counter-notices under penalty of perjury to reinstate infringing videos. Liberty Troll contends the counter-notices were part of a scheme to preserve monetized content and conceal the role of David Coulter, the channel’s actual operator.
